About the event
Mid-summer is a special time for foraging in the northeast. Expect to encounter some edible blooms (elderflower, milkweed, daylily) summer's first fruits (strawberry, juneberry, black raspberry) and the beginning of peak mushroom season with (reishi, oyster mushrooms, chicken of the woods and wood ear) beginning to emerge. Our walk will focus on identifying plants and fungi nearby, and also introduce other commonly eaten plants that are in their peak harvest season in the region. Tickets are 30$ and a 90 minute guided walk followed by chef-crafted foraged nibbles and a beer! Kids 8+ are welcome (with a grownup). If cost is a barrier, please reach out-- a select amount of tickets are available at a sliding-scale rate.
****Please note that only the foraging walk is ticketed-- feel free to be spontaneous and show up for the rest of the food truck, music, beer and good company, even if you want to skip the walk.***
